BOB Propagation in an Enclosed Space - Releasing the Bees

Jim Sarina

Previously we set up the greenhouse (Site1a2g) as an enclosed space with supplemental/augmenting resources (pollen, sugar water, "mud").

On the morning of 19 February 2020 we placed the bees/cocoons inside the greenhouse:

We placed the approximately 250 bee cocoons in three PVC release tubes. And we noted that a few (3 - 4) bees had already hatched. This condition was noted when the cocoons were received via 'second day USPS mail'.

We places "resources" including flowering plants and habitats...

...and pollen, sugar water, plain water and "mud":

After a short while, one bee had emerged from each of the three PVC tubes.
