We have been following the Payson Pumpkin People in their quest to grow Arizona's largest pumpkin since we met them in the Master Garden in Flowing Springs/Payson in 2019.
Last year they started good, but ended DONE.
Well, this year they are done in again by Mother Nature. An August filled with 90 to 100 deg F days finished their three pumpkin plants.
Steve's report:
“God willing and the creek don’t rise,”
Or the well doesn’t go dry.
As it has, again, daily for the last few weeks of very hot weather.
Done for another year.
Better luck next year!
