It was a dark and stormy day: hail, rain, thunder & lightning, and snow just above us.
And then it froze overnight in the lower areas.
Yes, that’s snow on the Rim this morning, maybe just 1,500 feet above us.
We were lucky to believe the weather forecast, in not planting those pumpkins earlier this week.
Targeting the end of this week now, as it starts to warm up into the 70s on Thursday and thereafter.

Rain / snow / wind / freezing temps/ hail -- man, its been a rough Spring and the month of May at the patch.
Lovely for people, not so much for our pumpkin plants.
However, the plants are ready, the patch is ready, and we will put the two together on Tuesday this week as the weather starts to warm up (again).
10-12 days later than we had hopped, about a week earlier than last year.
We’ll shelter the plants against night time cold for a while, and we think the soil temps ought to be back to ‘normal’ this week.
