Revisiting Scottsdale Community College

In April we visited the "Center for Native and Urban Wildlife (CNUW)" located at Scottsdale Community College. Their mission is:

CNUW’s Mission is to teach and advocate responsible desert living by directly participating in the conservation of native and urban wildlife.

What We Do:

Educate society concerning the values of natural desert environments

Restore Sonoran Desert habitats

Promote stewardship of Sonoran Desert ecosystems

Specifically, "Solitary Bee Studies: The Sonoran Desert is home to over 1,000 species of bees – one of the highest concentrations in the world! We are developing methods to study their pollination and nesting behaviors."

Their main activity in support of solitary bee pollination is to place habitats around the campus to attract and study the bees.
