We start the 2021 year with 20,000 bees; actually 20,000 cocoons.
We have 10,000 Blue Orchard Bee (BOB) cocoons and 10,000 leaf cutter cocoons.
We also ordered an additional 1,000 BOBs for use by Wayne Mennie of JWM Leafcutters, Inc. Our supplier Jaysen sorted them into male and female.
We are looking forward to Wayne's report on these cocoons in Parkside, Saskatchewan, Canada; home of the World's Largest Lily.
We also got a "gallon" of leaf cutter bee cocoons (about 10,000) from Scott of JWM Leafcutters Inc in Nampa, Idaho. Gene did some preliminary analysis in this video.
We are in the process of deciding how to deploy the BOBs and Leafcutters.
PS: We sent Scott and his dog Charlie a thank you card and treats in a box that DEFINITLY NOT BEES; shake vigourously before opening!
