We received the 5,000 bees, actually they are still cocoons.
We would like to gratefully acknowledge the support of the Orchard Bee Association (OBA) for providing these bees (cocoons) for our research project. And we thank Dr. Steve Peterson of Foothill Bee Ranch for his support, advice and expertise in the execution of this project.
The 5,000 bees are in 5 containers:
1. 1,250 from PA (Pennsylvania)
2. 1,250 from PA
3. 1.000 from UT (Utah)
4. 1.000 from UT
5. 500 from UT
The cocoons are maintained in a temperature and humidity monitored refrigerator:
And we actually received 4,999 cocoons and one bee who has already emerged. This is a male mason bee ready for action.
