We Started Placing the Leaf Cutter Bees at Site3 in Payson/Flowing Springs

We ordered 400 additional leaf cutter bees from Crown Bees to place at Site3 that is in Flowing Springs north of Payson, Arizona.

On September 5th we placed 200 (one bag) leaf cutter cocoons at the riverside residential lot (Site3b) in Flowing Springs. Note on the video that there were ants on the wood pile where we placed the cocoons/habitats. You can see (3:48) an ant climb over an emerged bee:

Next we placed the other 200 count bag at the Master Garden (Site3a):

The Master Garden Is Also A Designated As A "Backyard Wildlife Habitat"

During the activities we ran into a variety of wildlife including hawks, hummingbirds and a beetle:

Our neighbor Dave told us that recently two bears on the East Verde River have moved into the neighborhood joining the existing bear on Webber Creek. And the mountain lions have returned. The mountain lions killed a baby elk in Art's yard requiring Dave and Art to bag and remove the remains. Here's a shot of a mountain lion captured by a game camera.

We will continue to monitor the leaf cutter cocoons/habitats we placed at Site3.
